Thank you, PGI, for making this wonderful map. I only want to play new Colony now.

It has no haze, it is not dark, and, unbelievably, it is not all brown.

Seriously, great job, this is the best thing you added since summer. Please keep it up and give us more non-brown maps where we can actually see things.

EDIT: Ok, I was a bit wrong, apart from snow it is still all grey-brown. But this is still a huge step forward. I think I even saw a tiny piece of blue sky!

I actually do like this map a fair bit. The big block of snowfall near the south base is a nice change of pace that gives JJ-capable mechs a leg up on things.

I really agree with the OP here. Is it just a "re-skin"? Sure. But it looks nice. And while I absolutely appreciate the dirt and grime in many of the other maps, the dust clouds in the city, the snow storm making it difficult to see clearly past 500 meters, or the darkness shrouding these metal beasts in the tree-line - it's nice to have a clean, bright, and dare I say "typical" environment in which to do battle.

It could use some significant polish, though. The out-of-bound lines are a blatant and colossally inaccurate rip from the original Forest Colony map, and there are several hard zone-lines that need to be corrected (apparent placeholders, I guess). Hell, I've even had a friendly commando get stuck by falling half-through the floor near the tunnel today.

It's pretty, but it's buggy as ****, too.

But why water is not frozen, despite than temrature -25 C degrees.
It should be ice on the water.

On the other hand, it now feels twice as depressing when I drop on River City and see all those dazzling 10000 shades of brown.

It's an alien planet - perhaps it is water with antifreeze.

Could be methane or somehting, look up some of the moons in our solar system for reference.

Only issue I have with Snow Colony is the big mound of snow, it should be climbable!

Agreed. The map looks really nice. The ships in the water are also a good addition. Its also soooo good to finally have another map.

The only things i dont like are the problems with target range. I can clearly see the enemy standing there.. i can hit them with gauss or er laser.. but i cant target them.

I like this map too. The stars of the show are the mechs, and nobody seems to complain about how the mechs look. This is because they look awesome and pgi have some good 3d modellers and graphics people churning these superb deigns out. Then to go hide them in dense blizzard or in a haze seems kinda stupid. A few more well lit and fog free maps to show off how cool they look would be welcomed by me.

Looks like Michigan in the Winter . Now if we could just destroy that beautful winter wonderland with our giant stompy war machines!
